There is a certain level of comfort to earth tones, wouldn't you say? Even if I'm in the mood for bold and bright, I lean into those soothing earth tones. There's something about sandy browns and ocean blues. Of course, I understand that we are all drawn to different color palettes, as warm and cool tones complement us differently. However, today's kimono has a mix of both warm and cool in those blues, and the brown sandals are a staple for any wardrobe.
Kimono by Caite & Kyla
Do you recognize this print by Caite & Kyla? It recently made an appearance in dress form HERE and HERE on the blog! The design is the perfect blend of sandy browns and ocean blues that flatters so beautifully. And the versatility and practicality of a kimono for spring and summer is a no-brainer. Perfect for upgrading your style, kimonos layer seamlessly over skirts, shorts, dresses, leggings, and just about anything. You could even style it as a bathing suit cover-up.
From sandy browns to ocean blues I'm all about those earthy hues.
The Classica Shoes by Enjoiya
And I can thank Enjoiya and their "classica" sandals for today's outfit inspiration! Have you heard of the suggestion to start with the shoes when building your outfit? Though I don't often put that into often, it works well when I do.
When it comes to sandals, I need comfy but I want stylish. My first choice is usually a wedge because I can have added length to my legs, while still caring for my feet. These are my fourth pair of Enjoiya shoes and they continue to go above and beyond in durability, style, AND comfort. The adjustable strap and soft leather bed primed these shoes for all-day wear! They are the perfect staple addition to our closets!
Style Takeaway
- You can offset a shorter skirt with a long kimono and get the added coverage and protection from embarrassing moments.
- Though any denim wash would work, a lighter denim wash compliments these earth tones and gives the outfit a more spring and summer look.
- If you're styling a tunic top with a flowy kimono, add a little center tuck to keep your shape.
- Finish off your look with subtle accessories that elevate without taking over for a smooth cohesive vibe.
