Earlier this year there was a lot of talk about the Pantone colors "illuminating" and "ultimate grey" for the 2021 spring and summer season. In fact, I jumped on board and threw a post together HERE. However, since then I paid little attention as to whether or not my colors were trending. That is until today when I unknowingly hopped back on board with this Caite tunic top*, sent from Caite & Kyla. But of course, they would be ready with what's current without sacrificing individuality in their timeless pieces.
Artistically threaded throughout the gorgeous embroidery are two more of the Pantone colors, "marigold" and "rust", which are happily settled on their "buttercream" backdrop. This top* happened to pair with my comfy pull-on sneaks c/o Enjoiya. And finally to finish off this outfit is the neutral complimenting color of navy that I live by.
Enter Navy
I'd be remiss not to mention the versatile Lottie saddlebag sneaking its way into this post. Sent for review by Oryany, a New York street style brand mixed with Moroccan vibes, this navy dream will be returning for a full feature. Aside from sophisticated aesthetics - hello polished gold - I'm in love with the style options. Also bringing in some navy is my trusty jacket from Lucky. It was a clearance find that I've worn more times than I can count. I wish they had more colors!
Style Takeaway
Check your closet for current trends, especially when a new item arrives. You'll be surprised how many options become available with a single addition. And just as a reminder, comfortable no longer means frumpy or boring. Take the bold embroidery pattern and colors in this fabulously comfortable top. I paired it with pull-up pants and pull-on canvas shoes. Does it get any more comfortable than that? Slippers maybe?
Lastly, I was reminded that navy is a neutral color that pairs well with just about anything. In today's case, I love how it popped with the Pantone colors of 2021!
Do you keep up with the trending colors? Though I find it interesting, I don't worry about it when I'm getting dressed in the morning.
*Today's featured top is only available in a few sizes but I linked up similar options!
