Target Leopard Print Sandals & Link Up

Wait! Is it time for school to start already? I almost forgot that life continues to move forward. Thank God it does. We were made to create, work, dream, socialize and the list goes on! And so school pushes me to get organized and get back to a routine. However, I decided to rest my brain from all the activity by getting lost in a book.

On Friday, I asked Insta Friends for book recommendations. On Sunday a friend, not on Instagram, handed me a biography about a man who grew up in a communist country. Not lighthearted, but very applicable to where my thoughts reside these days. I'm only halfway through and can't wait to get back to it. I'll share a few thoughts at the end of the post, but let's pause on the outfit.
Floral Tops & Leopard Print
The floral top was a sweet birthday surprise from a friend, which prompted me to wear the leopard print sandals from Target that I've yet to wear. The delicate heart necklace was another sweet surprise from a friend. As for the rest of the outfit, I shopped in my closet. I haven't been shopping since my mother-in-law came to town, but I think I need to take a trip to Kendra Scott to get the matching earrings. That half off birthday deal is calling my name!

Bonus Thoughts:
Now back to that biography that I didn't want to put down...

As I read this morning, I stopped after reading these short paragraphs.

"It was like someone who'd held on to our arms so tightly suddenly let go, and we were lighter with the newfound freedom. We walked more confidently, we smiled, we debated issues with intellectual honesty. In record numbers, people spoke out against the Communist Party. Others expressed support for it. Some even advocated for anarchy. Everyone's opinion was fully respected and discussed.
Life, with freedom, felt fuller, and more robust. I remember thinking the flowers in the garden were particularly vibrant and the aroma of cooking rice was more pleasant. Freedom seeped into everything." Bob Fu, God's Double Agent

Life, with freedom, is fuller, isn't it? There's a spring in my step, laughter comes easily and fear seems far away. And I don't want to take that for granted. What is one aspect of freedom that you enjoy? For example, I love to hop in my car on Sunday mornings to worship freely at our church.

  2. Chrissy, you brilliant, beautiful, kind, and loving woman! I adore you and the messages you deliver into the blogging world. I have been so afraid to go anywhere in public these days for so many reasons, but all of the reasons really are driven by fear. That is so sad, isn't it? So the freedom I am missing is the freedom to go places without fear...fear of judgment, fear that I will accidentally not follow the rules, fear that I will be publicly reprimanded if I make some mistake with regard to the rules, fear that I will upset or offend someone, fear that I will have a panic attack inside the damn mask (it has happened twice already and it is quite unpleasant). So yes, I am craving that feeling of walking through life and all of its necessary things without being so afraid. That being said, I am not afraid of how stinking adorable your outfit is! That floral top looks so amazing on you. And I love the leopard sandals with it. It is the perfect pattern mix! Stay well, my friend. And happy and confident and fearless!

  8. I love leopard and florals! I have yet to stop shopping lol! I am getting a few things from Andrea's closet and have decided that once that lil shopping is done, I am going to challenge myself but I think I am going to have to announce my progress. Maybe a blog post and a tracker or insta otherwise I will give in to the shopping bug soon enough. I am really good on clothes and do not need anything! And happy belated birthday. School started this week: I feel like a headless chicken!
