Reunions. As I've mentioned in the last couple of posts, my sweet sister and her family arrived last weekend for a long overdue visit. The younger boys and I ran out the door when they arrived. My nieces got to us first (of course). Oh, how much young ones change in almost two years, right?
When I finally reached my sister we instantaneously burst into tears. It was so good to be near her! She is a sister who is also a friend; a friend that listens, encourages, laughs at my lame jokes and simply gets me. For this reason, my Friday Favorites are highlighting our quick weekend, as well as random "favorites" we have in common! Maybe you'll share in some of those as well.
Family Time
Good old fashioned family time makes it to the top of the favorites list. And what about all those girls?? Having the girls around to balance out the booming testosterone around our home was sublime. The cousins interacted with each other but the baby fascination was highly amusing, especially with the older boys. We spent the weekend loading and unloading kiddos from beach play to visiting the eldest cousin at work! As for the men? Well, they fished of course.
Girl's Night & fave4
Since Saturday was spent making rounds to visit the teens and grab groceries, there wasn't sufficient time to "properly" prepare our hair for the Salt Link Influencer event.
"Do you have dry shampoo?" she questioned.
"Why yes I do!"
Coincidentally I happened to have a variety of products that were sent to me over the summer. Next to the leave-in conditioner, the dry shampoo is my favorite and hair spray are next in line of favorites!
With generous sprays of Dirty to Flirty for us both and a few spritzes of Texture Takeover Hairspray for me, we were ready to go! Lauren remarked that she enjoyed the scent as well as the fact that the dry shampoo left no white residue. I concur! As for the hairspray, it also smells fabulous with a touchable hold..
Here we are at the picnic on the beach with some of the Salt Link Girls with more favorites: girl time and charcuterie boards! And my friends this charcuterie board from the local Artisan Cheese Company shop was gorgeous!
Trader JoesWho comes to Florida and asks to go to Trader Joes? My sister. We bought all kinds of fall goodies, but here's our short list of pumpkin flavored items.
Pumpkin Humus (Only good with tea biscuits.)
Pumpkin Bark (this was delicious!)
Pumpkin Cream Cheese (winner!)
Pumpkin Bagels (yes, we put the pumpkin cream cheese on the pumpkin bagels)
Yoga & PilatesOver the years my sister and I encouraged each other to practice Yoga or Pilates poses, stretches, etc. We would participate in the same Instagram challenges, sharing poses on the daily. Those challenges were long ago, but since I'm back at it I wanted to share this mat towel sent to me from "Wow It's You". If you work up a sweat, this towel is amazing. Even if I'm not sweating I prefer the feel of the towel over the feel of the mat. Aside from being absorbent this mat stays put! The towel is super absorbent, odorless, works for indoor and outdoor and also comes with a carrying tote!
Here's a fun throw back to 2015 during one of those Instagram daily challenges...
Time Together
When it all comes down to it, we just like to hang out and talk, eat our favorite snacks and watch chick flicks together. I was sad to see her and the family go, but now she's a mere 7 hours of driving as apposed to 10 days worth!
This makes my heart so happy for you that you got this sister and niece time. You can tell the boys are smitten. And charcuterie heaven right there. Happy Friday BABE!

What a wonderful reunion. Now that she is closer - 7 hours is not bad at all!! I adore my sister and she is about 10 hours away in the same state. Texas. I would love to be able to see her about once a month. She is so good for my soul.

ReplyDeleteOh Chrissy, I loved reading this post! Sister time is so important. Isn’t it a wonderful thing to have a sister who is also a best friend? My sister recently visited me in New York for the first time since I moved here over 6 yeas ago! And we had such a great time, thrifting, eating, talking, and watching movies. Her stay was much too short. But we will be spending Thanksgiving at her house so I am looking forward to that. She and I have a joke that we each have the best sister ever, but it is a trade off for also having the worst sister ever! We have a sister in between us who is legitimately and very frighteningly a very bad person. While we have come to accept this, we embrace each other so much more! Great post, my friend. Thanks for linking up with me this week!
