Friday Favorites: Homecoming, Dollar Store Decorations & Sarasota Spots

I'm kicking off this week's favorites with Homecoming Moments. No pun intended my friends. ;) The boys and I went to our First SHS Pep Rally. A performance by the Sarasota Circus students and fireworks will put this one down in the memory banks for us! You know what else will be remembered? My senior smiling! Moving is never easy and I'd say this boy has felt it the most.  My momma heart skipped a beat to see him happy. Now that's all I better say about that, right?

The team started strong this season but too many yellow flags and injured players hurt their winning streak. Thankfully, they came out on top at Friday night's game and I look forward to see how they do tonight!

Is it lame that I was completely relieved they opted to go as a friend group? There will be plenty of time for that! Meanwhile, I'll enjoy these youthful moments!

Ethan ended up getting pictures taken with a view!
Collin asked me the night before if a few friends could hang out our house. Sure! However, last minute means easy pizza. I did drop into the dollar store to grab a few items to decorate. You what helped? Their team colors are black and orange, which was everywhere! Happy Halloween!

So for around $5, I had a tablecloth, plates, a mesh table runner, plasticware,  and a tacky bow (hey, it was boys ok??)! Thank you Dollar General.

Extra bonus? This letter board came in the mail with my Causebox subscription - for a peek hop on over to Wednesday's post

Sarasota Adventures Continue
In between homeschool and high school, I'm squeezing in my local shop visits...mainly coffee and gelato. I can't help myself!

Gelato-Go Sarasota
My new favorite spot for gelato. Everything is made from scratch daily. I walk in and ask for tiramisu and coffee every time. So when I visited this weekend, I made myself try something different. The pineapple is incredibly refreshing. Now I'll be torn when I go! They also make specialty coffees, which I tried while meeting up with a friend.

Look at the beautiful display from Breaking Wave Coffee, also located in downtown Sarasota!  Right outside their coffee shop are one of the decorated bikes by a local artist, known as Dr. Nik. It's my intention to find them all!

Lido Beach
We closed out the weekend with a sunset swim at our one of our favorite beaches. Dad can fish while the kids play. Isn't is beautiful?

Alright my friends, my beautiful sister will arrive any moment. She's lived in Alaska these past 3 years and I haven't seen her in 2 years! Goodness I'm excited. I'm sure you'll see future Friday Favorite moments from this weekend. For now I hope you'll hop on over and link up with us at the Style Six HERE, if you haven't already!

    1. Me too! I ordered a good old fashioned cappuccino both times. These little shops are close to me so that may get me into trouble!

  10. Yes Julie! Those are my thoughts exactly. I know my boys don't believe me, but I think high school is the time to enjoy life without the extra responsibility etc of a romantic relationship!

  11. Yet again, I found myself smiling through this entire post! That picture of you and the boys is priceless! And now I must ask...how tall are you? And how tall are they?

I always forget about Dollar General for decorations. I must remember that.

I am so glad that Sarasota is proving to be a wonderful move all around for your family! Thanks for sharing and linking up with me, my friend.
