Red, White, Blue & You: All Things Patriotic Link Up

When I think of the 4th of July, of course I think of our country's independence, but from there I move on to all the summer sentiments. From childhood on, the 4th makes me feel like summer is in full effect. There's barbecues to be had, country music to listen to, vacations to reflect on, family and friends to laugh with. So in a sense I feel as if I'm celebrating with gratitude as I'm indescribably grateful to be alive and share moments with those I love.

All that being said, today's post is going to be a conglomeration of fashion and sentiment with a few other miscellaneous goodies for this fabulous "Red, White, Blue & You LINK UP with some sweet blogger friends. Please feel free to link up your posts with red, white and blue...fun 4th Inspirations!
Fashion Flatlay for the 4th, 2019
You may remember this tee styled last week with the overalls? Well, I thought I'd give it another go with some cute bow shoes, denim shorts and a $4.00 GAP clearance find.

Fashion 4th Flashback to Last Year

4th Dessert - Patriotic Fruit Pizza

This is a favorite with all the family and you can't get more summery, patriotic than fresh berries!

4th Snack Mix
We have a lot of teens coming in and out this summer, so this is a snack I will try for the first time this year! In full disclosure - it looks easy!!!
Fun Memories

Again when I think of the 4th, I think of summer, family and friends and this summer we we traveled to Georgia for all the above! This trip was extra special because I finally get to check the Atlanta Beltline off my adventure list! The Beltline is a huge redevelopment project in the city that became one of the city's hottest recreation trails for hiking, biking, walking, roller blading etc.

If Atlanta is on your places to go list,  I highly recommend renting a bike to enjoy the trail. There's places you can stop and eat along the way. An extra tip would be to go first thing in the morning before it gets to hot!

Renting Bikes from the Atlanta Bicycle Barn..
 Riding through Piedmont Park...

Sporting My Red, White & Blue at Ponce City Market
The kids did surprisingly well considering the hot day, but we had to stop for lunch before the meltdowns began. With those cuties in mind, we decided on the Market because we knew there would be options for everyone.
There's a Valet for Your Bikes! No stressing over locks, etc.
My Lunch from Farm To Ladle...
This place spoke to my granola heart...

I had a detox salad and a chicken wrap. They were both unique, fresh, and delicious. Keeping that on my list for repeats!

The Whole Crew

After eating we wandered through a few stores before heading back to the Bike Barn. The cost of rentals were $5 an hour per bike, which was worth not having to load up our own bikes. Anyway, these sweet friends made the necessary arrangements to pull off this adventure and they even wore a patriotic color for me! ;)

P.S. I don't think I'd try to have the adventure right on the 4th, better before or after!

P.S.S. There's still time to enter my giveaway for a free CariPro Toothbrush OR Whitening system by Smile Brilliant! I'd be so grateful if you pass on the word!

Now, we would love it if you link up any Red, White & Blue posts you have!

  1. I'm SO glad that you and your family had such a great time and so much fun in Atlanta! The 4th of July is the mid-point of summer to us, so all I'll be thinking about on July 5th and forward is all the books Alise still has to read for her HOnors English class! Ugh!! Come back, summer! Come back!

  10. Thanks for adding the price about the bikes. I was wondering about the cost! I may try that with the boys in the fall. Do you know whether they had trailers to rent to to pull lil kids?

  18. What fun!! I just had my bike flat fixed so I am back to bike riding in the mornings. Would love to be able to load my bike up to ride it places other my neighborhood but don't think it will fit in my car. Only in PC's when the convertible top is down. My sister and I tried renting bikes in downtown Austin and had a terrible time. They kept locking up mid-ride! It's a wonder we survived to tell the tale. Glad your experience was better.

Love those red bow shoes. So cute. Feminine without being really dressy. Your outfit is adorable.
