Friday Favorites: Tea House, Sea Salt Spray & A Surprise

This weeks favorites are all about food, fun, friends, fashion and a sneak peek at a supremely personal item I'll be reviewing on the blog soon! Also, I'm partnering with Simply Earth for this month's June box giveaway. See what that's all about below!

Amazon Floral Top
You may recognize this top from a few posts ago, only in white. I decided to go up a size for a more loose fit and to ward off any pulling at that center button. No need to be sharing my bra color with the world! This top is softer than the white color and I'm enjoying the

Beachy Hair Spray & Giveaway!!!
You may have seen this shared in my June Box Review for Simply Earth. If I spray that sea-salt spray immediately after showering, I need only to touch up a few areas with a curling wand and I'm good to go. For that reason, this DIY Sea Salt Hair Spray is getting a feature in the Friday Favorites!

Also, I'm thrilled to share that Simply Earth has generously offered another giveaway to my Instagram followers. I'd love to have you try their June Summer Box. Hop on over to Instagram to enter!

Come To Tea, Have You?
It was her birthday, which means she picks the place. Well, this felt like a treat for all of us. Mary Margret's tea and biscuit house is located in downtown Arcadia, Florida. The birthday girl drove and kept the location a surprise. Once we pulled into town, the first thing I saw was a mural of a rodeo cowboy riding a bull. The last place I imagined was sweet Mary and her Tea House in that town. Isn't that the adventure of it though? So here are a few pics from this lovely adventure!

Elegantly Styled in Mary's Fascinators...
The Tea Room...And Mary.
Mary and I...
Mary, I must say I've not seen a polo match quite like that before!
Scones, Cucumber Sandwiches, Potato Leek Soup and Quiche

Everything was delicious. Mary even showed me the proper way to butter my scone...start with the clotted cream on one side and jam on the other. She's from Devonshire you know. ;)
Healthy Favorite: My Kid Experiment

In an effort to help the boys snack on fruit and veggies before raiding the pantry, I set out fresh produce without saying a word. Yup, I set it up on the counter and watch. One by one, at various times, they'll venture out of their caves and notice food. I feign ignorance to their snacking and before I know it the produce is gone. Is it the dip that calls them? Or is it mom's nonchalance at their healthy choice? I may never know but it's working so who cares? Actually, the whole family picks at it. I should do this more!

Up and Coming Favorite: That Surprise I Mentioned...
I quit purchasing tampons several years ago and replaced them with a natural, reusable option - the cup. However, though I was curious, I decided not to venture into the world of reusable menstrual pads. That was taking my granola ways too far. Or was it?  I used cloth diapers for my twins until they were over two years old and I was already stretching the limit, for many, with my cup. So when the sweet sisters from HighOh contacted me my only fear was sharing something this personal on the blog. I went to my blog "tribe" for help and was sent away with overwhelming support. This is part of who I am. Go for it. That being said, you will be seeing a full review on the more natural choices I'm taking and why soon!

Ok my friends! It's Friday and that's always a favorite! ;) And have you seen my review on a new restaurant in town - Bavaro's? Come see HERE, you'll be hankering for Italian tonight!

    1. Ha! My worst enemy for eating veggies is the act of getting them chopped up! And what is up with this overcast weather! yuck!

  5. I love your second choice in that cute Amazon top! Ya know, I should probably set out fruit and veggies more on our kitchen island, too, instead of the usual mini cupcakes or cookies. But they just looks so much prettier, Chrissy! What's a girl to do? Enjoy your weekend!

  7. Your printed top is so cute and what fun birthday celebrations! :) I do the same thing with my boys for afternoon tea - they get a little plate with a bunch of healthy options and a treat and often they will have finished all the healthy choices too! It's easier when they just graze I think.

Hope that you're having a wonderful weekend :)
