At Home Teeth Whitening, Electronic Toothbrush Reviews & Giveaway

Smile Fearlessly. What's more disarming and engaging than a friendly, warming smile that reaches the eyes?  However, there's many an opportunity missed when one doesn't feel confident enough to give that full toothy smile! Though my teeth aren't perfectly straight, I'm blessed with white teeth that only need occasional help due to daily coffee consumption. Usually an activated charcoal treatment straight out of the capsule helps enough to keep my smile confident, but my hubby has a different story. As a former smoker with years of daily coffee intake, he tossed "white" out of his teeth vocabulary a long time ago. In addition to this, he also had a root canal done on his front tooth. All this combined can take some confidence out his smile. Would an at home teeth whitening system even work for him?

And this my friends brings me to today's post. Teeth Whitening: What's In The Box?

The kit comes with:

• All you need to prepare a mold for those custom-fit trays 
• Teeth whitening gel 
• Desensitizing gel 
• Step by step instructions on how to make your clay molds 
• A postage paid and addressed envelope to mail your molds to the lab 

***A couple of Things before we start:

We knew that Glen's root canal would not change in appearance, but we also knew that it would not be adversely effected in the treatment. Also, Glen's only exposure to whitening treatments were whitening strips and activated charcoal. Neither had any visible results for him, so we kept our expectations low in this case as well. 

Back To It...

Before you can begin whitening those choppers you will need to make a mold for a custom fitted tray. This is the best part in my opinion!

Step 1: Prepare Your Mold For the Lab

We made sure to read all the instructions carefully before opening the catalyst and base tubs. 

Once reading all the instructions we made quick work and followed the directions.

We set timers where needed and my hubby carefully placed the molds into the trays and the trays into his mouth.

You do one set of teeth at a time and before you know it, there's two sets drying in preparation to mail back to Smile Brilliant.

Begin Gel Treatments:

Once mailed you wait for your customized trays to show up in your mailbox. Then it's time to get the party started. 

First Comes the Whitening Gel and Desensitizing Gel
As directed, Glen began with 45 minutes and gradually increased to leaving the molds in for about 3 hours. After he finished with the whitening gel, he would then apply the Desensitizing Gel for 15 to 20 mins.

He did this at night after dinner and went about his usual nightly routine.

After the first couple of applications, I didn't notice any change. Then one day in casual conversation, I thought, "wow, his teeth are really brightening!" And I liked it. For me, it was one of those, you don't know what you have or don't have until it changes. He's a real cutie in my opinion, but this brighter smile is greatly appreciated!

My teeth are brighter and I notice this without studying my teeth in the mirror. The difference is obvious and other people have noticed as well.
