Short Sleeve Midi Dress/Hat/Shoes: Old/Purse: Old
Hello! My hubby and I went shopping together this weekend! I told him I'd like to shop for dresses and he volunteered to go. Surprised but happy to oblige, we hopped into our family mobile and headed to the mall. Since I had a $30 credit at the GAP we stopped in there. Success came quickly (thank goodness - he isn't as patient as my MIL), starting off with this short sleeve midi wrap dress. Boy is that a mouthful! My husband liked this one immediately and seemed a tad disappointed that I wanted to try on ALL the ones I pulled of the racks! I'm giggling right now. He didn't understand the concept! And his commentary on the dresses that followed cracked me up.
"That dress looks like my grandmother's curtains!"
"You look like a nurse or something in that dress."
Anyway, I went home with two dresses from that day. This wrap dress was less than $20 with the extra markdowns and credit. Online it's marked down to $32 (with an extra 20% off right now) and available in a few sizes! Okay, here's a few more shots, as well as grandma's dress and the nurse uniform. I'll let you guess which was which, as well as what other dress I brought home!
Ok, my friends! Have a wonderful rest of the week. See you back here on Friday for some favorites and if you missed Monday's post on a mini-beach clean up, let's chat some more HERE.
Chrissy
Love your dress! You look fabulous in that wrap dress!
ReplyDeleteThank you Fonda!! I hope you have a great week!
DeleteYour husband's commentary cracked me up! I can tell which one was the nurse's uniform and which one was grandma's curtains!!! Ha! You got a great deal on a dress that looks fantastic on you and I'm guessing I know which of the other dresses came home with you!

He is a riot. And you know I love a good deal. I'm guessing you're right about the other dress. It's going to be fun to style! ;)
DeleteMy GAP gorgeous girl! The best Gap spokesmodel out there! LOVE the dresses, you’re such a babe!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Thank you Andrea. I'm just waiting for GAP to call me! What is taking them so long??
DeleteI'm glad you found a dress! If you want someone to 'try on' with, you can give me a call! I really like brightness of the last one. You look adorable, girl!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kim! I so appreciate you! And I'm not at all surprised that you liked the last dress. ;)
DeleteBless Glen's heart! I can't remember the last time Wayne went shopping with me! He's more the chauffer these days and just drops me off and then picks me up. Can't say that I don't enjoy it, though! Love the dress, Chrissy! A nice addition to your sunny wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I was surprised when he said he wanted to go with me. However, he knew we were going to Dick's sporting goods after so that may have been it!
DeleteLove the dress. I’m thinking the nurse dress is the gray with skinny straps and grandma dress is the one with sleeves
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) haha. you were close. It was the other way around!
DeleteMy husband is the same way with shopping and doesn't understand the concept of trying things on and continuing to look! Wrap dresses are so flattering! Your's looks so pretty styled with the CAUSEBOX scarf! Gap has so many cute dresses this season! Love the cami floral print too!

GAP is killing it this spring. I'm so thankful too because when they feature sales, the clothes are affordable!
DeleteHahahahaha. I think your hubby is great. Mine will go with me and is patiant but I prefer to shop online and try at home. Love the one you picked! That green dress, I tried on in white, loved it but the straps were way too long. I think you brought the last dress home?

I need to try shopping online more, especially considering some of my favorite stores are local and I could easily return items that don't fit!
DeleteWhat a pretty dress! I tried on 7 to 8 dresses this weekend and came home with none but I am not giving up!

Thank you! And yes! Do not give up. Can't wait to see what you find. :J)
DeleteI love the wrap dresses you tried on. I love the dark floral dress.
ReplyDeleteThank you. That one was my hubby's favorite as well!
DeleteHaha it's funny what "men" think about certain fashions. I love the dress and the fact it's a wrap dress because it really has that classic shape!

Thank you Ruth. There's not much wriggle room with it so I'm hoping I'll be able to stay in the small. lol
DeleteThat dress is awesome! Love the sandals too. What a cute couple you are. Thank you for adding to the #linkup today. Jacqui MUmmabstylish
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jacqui! You know I enjoy visiting you and your page. :)
DeleteAt least he went with you...but that is funny. Guys are SO different when it comes to shopping. Mine has learned to catch up on his social media when I'm shopping...ha ha!!

Indeed they are. And that's a great idea. I'll tell glen to use that time to catch up on his fishing videos!!
DeleteI love the Gap! I think you made a good choice with the Midi Wrap. I giggled at the husband quote "Looks like my grandmothers curtains". Haha I hear that every time I try on a floral or plaid print. Husbands are adorable.
ReplyDeleteLisa
Thank you and husbands are something else! The facial expressions are worth a thousand words! Thanks so much for stopping by Lisa!
DeleteTHank you Julie!
ReplyDeleteThank you. :) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMen are certainly opinionated when it comes to women's clothes lol. I am glad your trip to Gap was a success and that both of the dresses you chose were darling. Wink Wink* I know which was the second dress you chose and I am so happy you are wearing it for a special post, later this week. Looking forward to the blog birthday party, btw.
ReplyDeleteYou and your husband looked great in your Easter getups. I am a sucker for a good wrap dress, especially one with a hi-lo style like yours is in the front. Super flattering. I love it with the wedges and Summer fedora. Great styling. =) Beautiful dress on you and what a great price!
In my latest post I talk a little bit about Michigan and its great lakes. =) Come check it out and join my Thursday Moda Linkup on Thursdays, too. Looking forward to my Birthday Blog party too and you being one of the bloggers I invited. =)
Thanks, Ada. =)
Such a cute dress! It's sweet hubby went shopping with you! Mine hates shopping and is never very helpful with his comments on the clothes if I ask him, haha!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining the #weekdayWearLinkUp :)
Hope that you are having a wonderful weekend :)
Away From The Blue
Have been away from home and all things Internet for some time in order to care for my mom. Just now catching up on my blog reading and writing.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is home this weekend for a visit and she, too, had the cutest midi-length dress from Gap. It looks very similar to yours = a beautiful blue and white print. Love the way you change it up with accessories, the hat, the scarf, and jacket. You are just the cutest thing. Glad you and your hubs enjoyed a trip to the mall together. And what a great deal you scored.
