Color Pops For "Office Wear"

Hey, hey! Today I'm bringing you cropped pants, my one and only stitch fix top and a photoshoot directed by 8 year olds. It's not often that I wear traditional black slacks, dress pants or whatever you like to call them, but I guess I was feeling professional. ;) This particular pair was picked up Chico's warehouse for $3 dollars. The cropped pants were joined by the turquoise/blue heels for $6! This is a rare and undeserved opportunity a friend and I have to shop these deals reserved for employees and their friends. Who knows, maybe this year we will gain access once more...never expected, always appreciated! :)

The TOP

The top was from my first Stitch Fix order. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience - from filling out my style profile to opening my box of selected goodies. The personal note and style tips for each item made my fashionista heart happy. I could have kept the entire shipment, but wasn't willing to sacrifice my limited clothing budget on 5 items. However, with nothing even remotely close to the look of this top in my closet, I decided to keep it before sending the rest back. (It's those darn warehouse sales - they spoil me!!!)

The Cardigan

The cardigan was from my WHBM clearance haul in January. See how I first styled it here. Also, if you're a size SMALL they have one for 14.99 right now!  I'm sure a blazer would look fabulous with this outfit but when I'm chilly I prefer cozy, so I reached for the cardigan.

As I mentioned earlier my boys were directing this shoot and when you're working with 8 year olds you have to be cautious of photo sessions feeling like work. This may mean you let them direct from time to time. For example: a ring of flower petals, which "posed" as a challenge to think of an appropriate pose.

...however, I always give it my best shot.

The Jewelry

The cheery, tear drop earrings, blush pink and gun mental strand and bracelets are all by Premier Designs. Premier has come so far over the years! I can remember the first PD's event I attended over 10 years ago. I struggled to find a single item that I liked in their HUGE catalog.  Then somewhere down the line they hired their own designers and the rest is history. There's not much I don't like now, so it was easy to represent them for a couple of years and so sad to close that chapter for awhile.

In addition to a fabulous selection, they also revamped their ordering system. You can now order directly online!! Here's a link to my sweet friend, Brooke's website if you'd like to see the latest styles.

Quick Jewelry Tip:

When wearing longer necklaces, it helps to wear a cami underneath your top to prevent "framing" or "dipping" (falling into the cleavage). Notice how my necklace behaved for this photoshoot.
