What do you do when you stumble upon the most comfortable, cozy top? Find as many ways to wear it as possible?? Yes! Me too. Then I share it with the blog world to gain fashion wisdom and hopefully inspire someone to pull something back out of their closet for another round. And that's what I'm going for today.
Look 1 - Going to the Zoo
Once home, it wasn't long before I was pulling it back out of the closet...again, again and again.
This first look was a lot of fun. We were going to the zoo so naturally I gravitated towards these animal print leggings. What else should I wear? Haha! But seriously, I wanted to be warm and comfortable for a day of walking around outside. Don't let the sun fool you. It was chilly. The fun ponytail beanie took care of the hair issue, the Adidas meant my feet would be comfortable and what's more comfy than leggings and a sweatshirt dress?? ;) The dress, leggings, earrings and the hat were all gifts from Christmas! Blogging is so fun after Christmas!!
Outfit Breakdown:
Sweatshirt: Express Outlet: (Khol's Option)/Leggings: Christmas gift from a local boutique/Vest: NY&Company (OLD)/Adiddas Kicks: Rackroom Shoes/Ruched Head Wrap: Gift from sister (Angela & William)/Leather Earrings: Brinley & Co (Leather Fringe)/
Look #2: The Classic Denim & Utility Jacket
An ordinary day...I still want to look put together without investing much time or thought into what I'm wearing. If I'm in a hurry, jeans seem to be my go to for a casual day. We know they go with just about everything. I grabbed the utility jacket because I have a penchant for adding a third layer or completer piece! Help! I can't seem to leave things well enough alone.
Choker Hack
The fun I added with this getup was in creating a choker hack, as you see in the picture above. Typically the necklace wears like this:
However, it's designed to be able to remove the tassel and also features a double lobster claw closure, so I took advantage and wrapped that puppy around my neck a couple of times. Do you have a long necklace you could double as a choker? If it has a double lobster claw you should give it a go!
My little photographer suggested that I jump in the air for my last shot. I have to listen to that cutie!
Outfit Breakdown:
Sweatshirt: Express Outlet (Khol's Option)/Utility Jacket: GAP (Current Style)/Distressed Denim: Judy Blue (Marisa Jill's Boutique)/Boots: Pikolinos/Necklace: Premier Designs (Phoenix)/Bronze Earrings: Premier Designs (JANE)
Look 3: Boho-Hippie Vibe
Lovely. Why do I pick trash day to get pictures done???
Now the only challenge I had with this outfit was the sweatshirt hoodie tie. I tried leaving it hanging with no necklace, but the starkness of the white kept nagging at me. As you can see, I finally tied it in a bow and added the pearls to bring in more white. What do you think??
Outfit Breakdown:
Sweatshirt Dress: Express Outlet (Khol's Option)/Leggings: The Legging Store (Amazon Option)/Olive Vest: Marisa Jill's Boutique (I can't find this puppy online!)/Combat Boots: Thrifted (Fun Target Option)/Necklace: Premier Designs (Pearl Sueded)

Here's an example of the different ways it can be worn...with the tassel, without the tassel, long or short, down the front or down the back. I have a lot of fun with this classic with a touch of trend piece!
Whew! Did you hang in there?? I know it was a lot but tell me, which outfit is your favorite? Would you wear any of these looks? Your constructive criticism and/or affirmations are welcomed and appreciated! You make blogging a fun adventure!

You are absolutely adorable in this sweatshirt dress! You look so put together yet comfortable - I LOVE it! My favorite is #1 what you wore to the zoo although I do love that military jacket of yours and the Boho vibe gets me everytime, so they're all winners in my book just like you!

Thank you Carrie! I've lost count of the amount of times this vest has been worn. Of course I found it while out shopping with my mother in law. She has the best eye!
DeleteSo many great layering ideas for your cute sweatshirt dress. Aren't they the coziest and so comfy?! I don't think I have ever layered my sweatshirt dress, so I need to give this a try. Thanks for the ideas!
ReplyDeleteHey Jennie! They are the coziest. Why has it taken me so long to own one? That's probably why I'm wearing it so often. Always enjoy hearing from you!
DeleteThere is something special about that first look, I am not sure if its the sneakers or the bolder gold earrings, but it just looks REALLY GOOD!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lorena...for taking the time to comment and for the great feedback! I hope you're having a fabulous week. :)
